Aww, poor Near. Cried himself to sleep holding the only thing left of Mello. :'< The tears are beautiful, and if they weren't there I wouldn't have figured out that it was after Mello died. It makes sense for him to cry when he thinks no one is looking, but he can't wipe them after he's gone to sleep. Poor little dear...
